Our Christmas Market destinations are Aachen, Bernkastel-Kues on the Mosel, Bonn on the Rhine, Cochem on the Mosel, Cologne on the Rhine, Koblenz where the Rhine and Mosel meet, and Trier, on the Moselle, the oldest city in Germany with its Roman heritage and a beautiful traditional market. Gerolstein has a main line rail link with Trier and Cologne with regular services, economically priced. Cologne has  a travel time of 90 minutes and Trier 60 minutes both through fabulous scenery.

Like many hundreds of towns throughout Germany, Gerolstein has its own "weekend"  Christmas Market to be held this year on 11 and 12 December with a Fireworks display on Saturday evening echoing through the  valley. great view from the Apartments.

CARNIVAL  

One of the most celebrated events is CARNIVAL GERMANY an occasion to celebrate life and its various aspects.

The official opening of Carnival is 11th November at 11:11 am and then stretches over 3 months to the real festivities culminating with parades on 15th February 2010 in all towns and cities including Gerolstein.

Amongst all carnivals the Köln Carnival Germany, known as the Dreigestirn is regarded as the best and is only 1 hour away by train.

MOSCOW STATE CIRCUS ON ICE  - DECEMBER 2010

A unique opportunity to see this circus ON ICE rarely seen outside of Russia - date yet to be advised but almost cerrtainly in 2nd week of December to be held in the new Nürburgring 4500 seat capacity arena. Gerolstein 35km.
